About Me

My photo
I am a sixteen year old girl with too much on my mind, so I decided to start a blog to write it all down. I intend on becoming a journalist or best-selling author one day, so why not write often to get myself going? I love to read, watch movies, listen to music, be with my friends, cuddle my dog, and just have fun. I'm here, I'm living, so let's do something with my life.

The News From White Kingsington #5

IT IS OVER. FINITO. DONE. FOREVER.

My school's production of Wonderland: The Musical Misadventures of a Girl Named Alice is over now! It was a good run while it lasted, with many shenanigans. Everyone who was a part of the show enjoyed themselves immensely while working on it, and the shows made us laugh until we cried.

There's a tradition at my school, that on closing night, people are given the chance to take some...liberties with some of the things that go on onstage. We had a couple really good gags this year, including:
  • The Red Queen drew a moustache on the sleeping Red King's face
  • There was a pudding fight
  • Replacing 'Kitty' with a tiger
  • Having the guy who played the train conductor be more silly then he usually is
  • Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum wore the Red King's crown
  • Hatta and the White King's new dialogue about White Kingsington
  • Our announcer was Scottish
  • The two newscasters dressed up in their costumes from last year's production of  Seussical The Musical, where they were Mr. and Mrs. Mayor
There were other nonsensical and illogical shenanigans being performed as well, but they were more to do with the actual plot of the play, and less about the action. All in all, it was a ton of fun.

In other news, I think I'm getting sick.

Anti-Aerica

ALIIIIIIIIIIICE IN WONDERLAAAAAAND CLOOOSE YOUR EYYYES AND TAAAKE MY HAAAAAAAAND.

That is the opening line of the opening number of my school's musical this year, Wonderland: The Musical Misadventures of a Girl Named Alice! I'm the spotlight operator, while my friends are the stage manager, right wing co-ordinator, assistant director/Mother/Proper Authority #1/Tweedle Dum/Announcer/Emcee, and the lighting operator. A lot of my other friends are involved in the play as well, whether they're in it, or their on the stage crew. I'm super excited for our evening opening night tomorrow, it's going to be fantastic.

In other news, I got a rather interesting question on my Formspring account today. Here's the question, and my answer:

what's the dark side behind aerica ...?
well anti-aerica is dark and gloomy and despairing and emo and hellish and evil. that's my dark side. as to what she actually does, well, she just cackles evilly in a corner, plotting things.

After answering the question, I started thinking more about what the real Anti-Aerica would be like. I came to a conclusion of the following points:
  • She would like pink
  • She would be short
  • She would be really social
  • TWIHARD
  • She'd probably be super annoying
  • Wouldn't like chocolate
  • She'd be a math kid
I don't think we'd get along very well.

Greasy Pizza Makes for Happy Me

I've decided to change how often I blog. I'm going to try to write at least once a week, but more if I feel like it. So here goes for this week.

As I'm sure you know, it's tech week at my school for our musical production of Wonderland: The Musical Misadventures of A Girl Named Alice, and thus, it has been crazy hectic and busy for me. We've been working really hard to get our show running and looking wonderful, and so far, it's been paying off! I went into school today (there was no school today, it was a PA day) and helped to clean out our wings and repaint the chess board set we have. It was an incredibly productive day, believe it or not. I had greasy pizza for lunch, which pleased me.

Yesterday night, my family and I went to see a concert, but not just any concert. We saw 'Bugs Bunny at the Symphony'! I really really enjoyed myself, partially because I love the Looney Toons cartoons, particularly Bugs and Marvin the Martian, but the music was performed beautifully by the symphony orchestra while the cartoons ran on a screen above them. I can't stress how much I enjoyed that concert. I'd love to go see it again, but unfortunately, their next stop in the tour is Malaysia, which is tragic.

Next week is the actual run of our show, so I'll be super busy the whole time. I don't actually do much other than operate the spotlight, but I do do odd jobs for our stage manager and director and everyone else. It's pretty much hell, but it's actually quite fun. Other than that, I don't have much else to report. I'd like to fangasm about ModCloth some more, but I'm tired. Next time, I'll just ramble about the show, so be prepared!

That's all for now folks!

Fashion and Giant Badass Robots

I HAVE BROKEN MY PROMISE.

I haven't written anything for the past several days, which is tragic D:
And so, I apologize to myself and the one other person on the Internet who reads this for not updating.

I don't have much to report, other than I am supremely bored these days. I should be working on my biology case study, but I have more important things to be thinking about right now, like music, and clothes, and getting a job. Mostly getting a job, and my G2 license. I'd love to go for my license really soon, but there's some paperwork I have to fill out, and a road test to complete. Trust me, you'll know if I get my G2.

In other news, I had a performance with band today. We performed at someone's wedding reception. It was honestly the most awkward performance I've ever done. We marched in playing music, and had a trumpet fanfare for each member of the bridal party, and a longer, more extravagant fanfare for the bride and groom. Then we played some music, and then left. As we were leaving, one lady looked at us as if we were the scum of the Earth. It was very awkward and stiff, but I'm sure they're all having fun now. I know I'm not.

I really should be doing biology, but just sitting here writing and lurking music and clothing is much more fun. I am in LOVE with a website called ModCloth. They have so many awesome pieces with such intricate details, and some really beautiful simple pieces. Here's my biggest wishlist right now:

These are all from the home area and other stuff. The snail is a jewelry box, and I reeeally want it. And the sombrero/saucer penguin mug is just winning, and the ice cream pillow is wondrous. However, the fish umbrella and the owl mug are at the very very top of my list. I would be so happy and so ecstatic every time it rains if I had that fishy umbrella. And then I'd warm up with a mug of hot chocolate in my owl mug and a good book :)

WANT. WANT. WANT. WANT. WANT.
All these dresses are so gorgeous, I want them all. If you know me well enough, or at all, you'll know I'm not particularly girly. However, I have recently discovered a love for pretty (casual!) dresses. I think all these dresses are beautiful, and so simple, that I can't help but love them. I adore the teal colour and the interesting back on the first one, and the second is just a rainbow of colour! Plus, it's a maxi dress, which I've been dying to try. The last three dresses are the girliest of them all, but they're so nice to look at, I think I'd die of happiness should I own any of them. Out of all of these, I'd want the first or last one the most. THE LAST ONE HAS POCKETS.

So yeah. That's my fashion rant for now. I'm in the process of watching 'Transformers' and I will end this simply by saying: AUTOBOTS, ROLL OUT.
