About Me

My photo
I am a sixteen year old girl with too much on my mind, so I decided to start a blog to write it all down. I intend on becoming a journalist or best-selling author one day, so why not write often to get myself going? I love to read, watch movies, listen to music, be with my friends, cuddle my dog, and just have fun. I'm here, I'm living, so let's do something with my life.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROM

OKAY.

Yesterday was the day of the Royal Ontario Museum disaster. The whole trip was so disorganized, but it was a ridiculous amount of fun. We got to roam about on our own for the morning, and joined up again in the afternoon for a guided tour of the Ancient Greece and Egypt wings of the museum.

If you know me well enough, I have a thing for Harry Potter. Thus, the owl fixation.

During the roaming bit, my friends and I went to the animals and biodiversity wing, and we found OWLS. I was very excited. We roamed about in the bat cave, which was super fun. I really liked looking at the animals, and once we got to the Greek exhibit, I was ecstatic. I love Greek mythology, which caused me to learn quite a bit about Ancient Greek culture. I am very pleased to note I answered many of our guides questions about the culture.

So, that was pretty much yesterday. Except my best friend Sara found a flower that looks like Vileplume.

See?
So that was the ROM. Today I had two massive tests, a Biology quiz, and my Functions test of DOOM. Other than that, play went relatively well today...Relatively. So that's my life right now, and TTFN Interweb!

Long Day, Short Post

If you were paying attention to my last actual post, you would have know that my history class was going to the Royal Ontario Museum. And we did, and it was fab.

I am writing every day, as you can see, but I have a massive biology test and a functions unit test to study for, so expect a giant chunk of words tommorow!

Ta-ta for now!

Simply Some Thoughts

Have you ever wondered how we came to be? As individual people, with our own distinctive features and personalities? I have. Or more specifically, I've been forced to wonder. My biology class at school has been studying genetics, and it made me wonder about individuality. Are we born with our certain personality traits in our DNA? Or do certain things come from the choices we make? Personally, I think the majority of who I am is due to choices I've made, and the people I associate with. Although, a part of me thinks some of my qualities were inherited from my parents, like my inane stubbornness. And stuff. That's all my philosophical nonsense for today.

I've also fallen in love with 8tracks. For those of you who don't know, 8tracks is a website where people go and upload music and create playlists, just for fun. I really love it, because it's helped me discover a lot of new music. My favourite mix right now is called 'sundresses' and was made by 'brighterthansunshine'. It's got a few songs I already know and love, and a few new ones that I've GOT to download ASAP. Also, I officially love Arcade Fire. Not just because they won a Grammy, or a couple Juno's, but I genuinely like their music. I'd never really heard any of their songs before, but can I just say I'm swimming in adoration right now?

Tomorrow my ancient civilizations class is going to the Royal Ontario Museum to see the Egyptian and Greek exhibits. I'm super excited, since I reeeeeeeeeeeally love ancient Greek culture and mythology, since I'm a dork and all. Regardless, I'm excited and I'm going to enjoy myself immensely.

In other news, I'm the spotlight and gobo operator for my school's musical, Wonderland. The rehearsals are coming along pretty well, and here's a Thespian Peacock to describe life:

Aloha, Mahalo!

Good afternoon Internet!

So, keeping with my promise to write everyday, I'm going to sum up what's happened so far today, and whatever else is going on in my life.

Today I had band practice. Well not really. We had a meeting to discuss our trip to HAWAII. I'll be leaving near the end of November, so it's a ways off, but we're still starting all our fund-raising now, so we can cut down the price. I'm super excited to go, since I've never been to Hawaii before! Attractions in the works include a maze at the Dole Plantation, as well as a performance on the USS Missouri. It's a huge honour, since we're the only foreign band out of 17 bands who will be performing at the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbour. I'm super excited.

Other than that, I've only had homework to be 'excited' about...And that's it really. I suppose my television shows are playing a huge part in my life. Glee has had me freaking out these past few episodes, what with the Klaine kiss (SQUEE) and regionals and all the nonsense with Quinn and Finn. I'm NOT happy about having to wait out the month for nationals and whatever other shenanigans they have planned. Big Bang theory is just awesome, and Smallville is getting intense for its final season!

And that's it for now. Aloha!

Concerning the Small Things

I'm not sure how to start this. I feel a little awkward, just typing away here, by myself. But shall I get to the point?

I'm Erica, and this is my blog. I will be writing every single day, if time allows, so that I can process all my thoughts, and just ramble about everything in my life. Not only that, but I'll be discussing things of interest to me, and I hope you enjoy reading what I write.

So for my first blog (yay!) I feel like I should disclose a few things about me. So here we go:
a) I am in a marching band. I play flute, and I'm a section leader. Band takes up a lot of my time, and my life, but I do love it, and it takes me around the world. I wouldn't give up band for anything in the world.

b) My real name is Erica, but I choose to spell it with an 'A' for originality and individuality. Someday, when I become a famous author, my books will be under the pseudonym Aerica, not Erica. My parents named me Erica, but these days, I feel more and more like Aerica.

c) I'm a dork. I love acting like a kid, and being silly. I am in love with never growing up, and have a serious obsession with any and all things to do with Harry Potter. I would do anything for my friends, and will stand by them, no matter what. I like it when people notice the little things about me, and pick up on my quirks.

I suppose that's all for now, and hopefully I'll write something tomorrow. So until then, adieu and goodbye :)
